Films: Krampus-Origins (2018)

Summary: We promise that this is the last Krampus film we'll be covering. But admittingly, it's one heck of a Krampus story, this time. Many holiday demons before this have been rather cheap and/or pushovers. But this time, we have one that has some presence. Literally, actually. The CGI is quite minimal.

History: At an orphanage, one of the teachers has been given a strange book. It used to be in the hands of her husband, a soldier, before WWI took his life. But this is no ordinary tome. It is that which can summon a horrible demon known as the Krampus, who was put in the book by the fair folk a long time ago. And now he's loose, taking the form of a boy name Nicholas to get by. Few things can get in his way, and the folks in the orphanage are scrambling for answers.

Notable Kills: Nothing special.

Final Fate: With the help of the book, the teacher who unintentionally started this whole mess uses the magic within it and herself to imprison the Krampus in the pages once more. While the beast may not be gone forever, he is at least in a place where he won't cause too much trouble.

Powers/Abilities: The Krampus can shapeshift and use all sorts of evil magic to do things like take away souls.

Weakness: By using the book and an amulet in tandem, the Krampus can be sealed away again.

Scariness Factor: 3.5-Admittinly, the effects for the Krampus' magic and other things is quite shoddy, and he spends most of his time standing around while killing people off-screen. That doesn't mean he isn't a threat. When you DO see him, it's as if someone turned a satyr into Sauron during his prime. Also, he's got one Hell of a compelling voice. You hear that and suddenly you have to listen.

Trivia: -The Krampus was played by Cleon Gionet. It is really the only major role he's had as of this writing.

-This film was directed by Joseph Mbah, whose career actually has more sci-fi films than anything.
